The Ideal Muslimah

Most men in the Islamic community throw around the term ‘obedient’ without understanding the parameters necessary to make it a realistic concept, both socially and religiously. The way 'obedience’ is interpreted today is a woman who has no life of her own. A woman who lives vicariously through the successes and failures of her husband; a woman who follows the script handed to her (i.e., societal expectations), who serves no greater purpose than to hold the pen while her husband writes the relational narrative with the ink of his own actions (i.e., his accomplishments and failures).
