If anyone assumes the role of khateeb and doesn’t consider these important points there’s a strong possibility that the khutbah will go in one ear and out the other. If you’ve ever listened to a khutbah and walked away feeling like it was an absolute waste of energy because of its ineffectiveness, there’s a strong possibility that your disinterest was related to the absence of one or more of these elements. You cannot just grab a microphone and get on the mimbar and start shouting. The Friday khutbah is a very powerful and transformative tool and if used correctly, it has the power to inspire many. The next generation has to get this right. Long gone are the days of prolific and inspiring speeches that have the ability to inspire nations. The khutbah is a lost art form and we have to revive it for the sake of our hearts and souls.
